Ghee isn’t just “clarified butter”. It’s time. It’s love. It’s passion. It’s slowing down to make an exceptional product.
Why ghee?
It is a free from lactose alternative to butter for those that still LOVE the taste of real butter. It is versatile, delicious, shelf-stable (take it camping!) and is considered a “healthy fat”. If you follow Whole30, keto or paleo diets, ghee is compatible with those diets and is allowed!

Our Story
Golden Ghee, LLC founder Chef Laura has always appreciated clarified butter since her days at Johnson & Wales University earning her Culinary Arts degree. As part of daily prep, she’d make saucepans of it for her mise en place and never thought much of it.
But its wasn’t until she became an Advanced Level Whole30 Certified Coach and understood the importance of healthy fats, and dairy free options like ghee.
Store bought ghees just didn’t quite taste right. A bit “gamey” with a waxy texture and off-putting bright yellow color.
Recalling her old culinary school days, she thought she’d whip up some ghee one day, got a bit distracted, and left the butter on the stove a little longer than necessary. That “mistake” tuned into a lovely discovery, The milk solids had “toasted” turning the melted butter an amber “liquid gold”. After double straining through cheesecloth, Chef Laura (accidentally) produced her first batch of Golden Ghee. Now ghee-making is a zen-like practice for Chef Laura. She stays close by the butter, admiring the transformation from solid, to liquid, to GOLD.
As luck would have it, Chef Laura lives in Golden, Colorado and enjoys being part of the community. She coaches Whole30 Clients, teaches fitness classes, and now never forgets when a pot of ghee is simmering on the stove.
